Currently, D Star’s song Hozambee/Shifura is dominating the airwaves across East Africa with thousands of social media challenges made using her audio.
The song that has also attracted fellow dancehall singer Mudra to make a remix and visuals has, however, been faced with heavy criticism.
From netizens, criticism regarding the vulgar nature of the lyrics of the song has now also been highlighted by Hon. Betty Nambooze, a renowned Ugandan journalist and politician.
During an interview, Hon. Nambooze noted that artists who produce songs whose lyrics have a hidden vulgar meaning must be ignored.
She noted that songs like Hozambee do not need to be given any airplay because they only lead to further moral decay in society.

Hon. Nambooze is not the only one against vulgar lyrics as many public figures have spoken about a similar issue in the past.
The song, however, continues to spread out across the region and D Star has been a common face on several performance lineups across the country.
Please stop making such artists a big deal. What sort of talent makes you sing vulgar music? Can you play that song in your mother’s presence? Can you play Hozambee in your car with your Mum around?
