Dax Vibez

Dancehall, Ragga, and RnB singer Dax Vibez, real name Ivan Bugembe Ssentamu, advises artists to create a solid block of unity if they wish to change the industry for the better.

Recently, musicians under the Uganda National Musicians Federation met president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the State House seeking a solution to some of their problems.

Dax Vibez believes it was the wrong move that they made.

The younger brother of Bobi Wine claims that the government has often issued empty promises to artists including the activation of the copyright law.

He advises artists that the only way to achieve something positive for the industry is if they unite and form a solid block through which they can make demands, other than creating various small groups to benefit their personal needs.

Dax also claims that the industry has been on a downfall since artists started visiting the State House for cash handouts.

Artists should know that there is no solution where they are seeking it. As artists, first of all, we are looked at as threats. They will do everything possible to thump us using the army, silencing us, or even censoring us. So the solution is within us, if we go there (to the government) when we are not united, we are weak. But if we create our bond we give the entertainment industry value. Since the artists started going to the State House, has the industry improved or declined?

Fellow dancehall singer Ziza Bafana also shared a similar opinion a few days ago.
