Mesach Semakula, a former Golden Production singer, has urged fellow artists to be humble enough and also prepare for life after limelight.

He passed on the advice cautioning trending artists/ celebrities not to be taken up by fame and the celebrity status that they carry at the moment.

The “Emirembe Ngalo” singer tipped public figures to invest their money wisely and in different business ventures or agriculture stressing that there is a time when they will be off the chart.

He noted that there is no one who stays at the peak forever despite how good someone can be at their craft.

I urge all public figures and celebrities to invest and prepare for life after fame because there is a time when you will be off the charts or market despite the fact that you could be a good musician. But at that moment, it won’t be your time. Your time will have passed.

Musicians should do side businesses that could help them in later stages of their lives. Save your money. Don’t let the celebrity status eat up your mind. Stay humble and don’t overlook or minimise people.

He gave an example of himself saying sometimes when the waiters and waitresses are busy, he sometimes gets involved and serves the customers at his restaurant.

When asked whether he supports the idea of local celebrities relocating to the Western world, he strongly backed it.
