Dr. Bbosa Bagenda, one of the pioneers of the drama group, the Ebonies has urged the government of Uganda to establish a fully-fledged ministry for the entertainment sector.
He explained that for the 40 years President Museveni has been in power, the first 20 years were really tough to access some of the things desired in the arts field.
However that changed in the latter 20 years as some things are now easily accessible since there are some great changes and improvements.
Based on the improvements that are visible, Dr. Bbosa Bagenda says the entertainment sector needs a ministry of its own.
He adds that when the sector is established, it should be ran by technocrats not artists as it is the case with the UNMF that is led by Eddy Kenzo.
“What we need now is a fully-fledged ministry. A ministry that is run by technocrats to govern it well and the artists at large”, Dr. Bbosa Bagenda
He adds that the sector is now being run by excitement and hype by individuals because there is money and people are enjoying it.
