Judith Babirye, a former celebrated gospel singer, opened up about how joining politics affected her life and regrets having dipped her feet into politics.

She explains that joining politics is one of the grave mistakes she ever made in her life and one that she will never make again.

Speaking in an interview, Babirye stressed that politics had her disjointed from her fans and colleagues which hurt her and sent her into a miserable lifestyle.

She reached a moment where she could not rub shoulders with her former friends including Erias Lukwago, Judith Nabakooba, and Bobi Wine, yet they were very close friends.

Babirye who had been elected as the Buikwe District Woman MP in the 10th Parliament 2016–2021 ran for one one term but did not even manage to complete the five years as she had to flee the country for Canada, where she is currently based.

She emphasized that she does not consider herself a politician, but rather a servant of God.

Furthermore, she mentioned that she ditched politics as it hindered her services as a God’s servant.
