Former singer and media personality, Mr. Mosh, born Mosh Ssendi, is setting his sights on a larger political role ahead of Uganda’s 2026 general elections.

After stepping away from the media in 2021 to pursue a career in politics, the former TV and radio star is now considering a run for Parliament or a mayoral position.

Mr. Mosh has been a member of the National Unity Platform (NUP) since leaving his media career, joining the party led by Bobi Wine, also known as Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.

According to him, his friendship with Bobi Wine predates the political landscape, a factor that solidified his trust in joining the NUP.

I didn’t join Bobi Wine because of NUP; the two of us were friends even before politics, and that’s what kept the trust between us.

Mosh says that his political journey is driven by personal effort and his desire to serve his community.

I don’t thrive because of the establishment; I thrive because of my hustle. Kyagulanyi is like a brother to me—we used to meet when we were young. Joining NUP felt natural, and it was the best decision I made.

Currently serving as a councillor, Mosh Ssendi believes he can make an even greater impact if elected to a higher position.

He expressed confidence in his ability to leverage the increased opportunities and resources available to those in parliamentary or mayoral positions to better serve his constituents.

We are on the right track. I’m considering running for Parliament or becoming a mayor in 2026, as I believe I can serve better.
