Veteran media personality Robert Sekidde a.k.a Tuff B advises the church to revise the gospel preached to incorporate messages on how to solve real-life situations rather than relying barely on faith to survive.
Tuff B who is set to run for the Makindye East MP seat says churches back in the day didn’t cater to the younger generation when preaching and the message every sabbath was directed to the older people.
That, he believes, forced many children growing up to feel uninvolved and seek information about life elsewhere; in secular music and other channels that preached what they were living through.
Growing up, our parents often took us to church but the preachers refused to preach the message that the young people understood. Whatever they preached was for the elders, our parents, they didn’t communicate it to the younger people and that’s why this generation has run away from the church.
The NBS TV presenter further notes that even today, the message preached in the church is so castigating toward the youths and makes them look bad and evil, contrary to what Jesus Christ preached while He lived.
Tuff B advises the church to revise the message preached in the church to incorporate solutions for relatable real-life situations that young people go through and how to add value to their lives, rather than tirelessly tell them to fast and pray to solve their problems.
That way, he believes more youths could be attracted back into the church that they have forsaken.
