According to reports, the contentious National Coffee Amendment Bill 2024 has been finally passed.

It is reported that the bill has been passed with only one side of the government in the house after a 30 minute suspension of the plenary sitting that was called by the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Annet Anita Among earlier.

The media was requested to return to the house without cameras.

Earlier a scuffle ensued between Mityana Municipalicity MP, Hon. Francis Zaake and Hon. Anthony Atiku when the latter rained punches on the former when he forcefully threw him out of his seat.

Hon. Zaake was later wheeled off into a waiting ambulance and rushed to the hospital. Hon. Zaake had earlier claimed that security operatives had stormed the house with guns to take part in the debate.

Later on, the lights in the parliament went off as security stormed the house and forcefully arrested some of the opposition MPs who were accused of being indiscipline including Kampala Woman MP, Hon. Shamim Malende.

Speaker Anita Annet Among also vowed not to apologize to the Buganda, until documentary evidence is tabled before Parliament proving that she made discriminatory remarks targeting Baganda, during the heated debate on the National Coffee Amendment Bill, 2024.
