The Ugandan music industry does not slumber. There is a new song being released every other moment as each artist tries to feed their respective fans. Here are some of the freshest tracks in the country at the moment:
- Don’t Rush – Maurice Kirya
Maurice Kirya’s ‘Don’t Rush’ is a groovy catchy urban Afro-pop. It’s part of his upcoming album. The song merges Zouk and Kizomba Afro rhythms, with Kirya smoothly delivering seductive vocals and lyrics that are brave yet vulnerable as well. It was written and performed by Maurice Kirya, and produced by Andy Muzic, Samuel Bisaso, and Maurice Kirya.
- Masanyalaze – Aaronx feat. Winnie Nwagi
This year seems a consistent one for Aaronx as he has dropped several projects. ‘Masanyalaze’ is Track 6 on his EP titled “My LOVE.” Produced by Jacob Beats, this enchanting song features one of Uganda’s biggest female artists, Winnie Nwagi, and is crafted to whisk you away into a world of love with its sweet and mellow lyrics.
- Amaalo – UgaBoys
Axe Gang Records duo UgaBoys release yet another vibey track titled ‘Amaalo’. Produced by Banger Boi, the song evokes your desire to dance. It speaks about how you always need to be on high alert while in Kampala – a city filled with streetwise dwellers.
- Ottute – Nina Roz
Despite her political ambitions and busy school schedule, Nina Roz hasn’t forsaken her fans and the music continues to flow. Produced by Andre on the Beat, ‘Ottute’ reminds us of the trademark Nina Roz vocals and music flow. She sings for love, expressing how her feelings have been won over by a special someone.
- Only One (La Love) – Rickman feat. Joshua Batraka and Joseph Sax
Joshua Baraka has arguably waved the Ugandan flag the highest this year and he now jumps onto this special collaboration with Rickman and renowned saxophonist, Joseph Sax. Ent3r Media 256 and Bexx Nation made this music collaboration possible and it’s one you just have to listen to. ‘Only One (La Love)’ is an Afro-ballad celebrating love and its attributes.
