Through their brand, Linglong Tire, Mandela Group of Companies have awarded the third Electric Car to lucky customer as they promised at the start of the campaign in July last year. 

Via the draws made on Thursday, 16, January , 2025, at Mandela Group head offices in the Industry Area, the teacher and mechanical engineer, Kyeyune Godfrey was the lucky winner and today (Saturday) received a ceremonial key of his 100% electric car at the event held at Kamwokya City Oil branch

The campaign that was launched in July last year, aimed at giving away three electric cars and the first one has gone with two to go.

According to Mandela Group, one needs to buy at least two Linglong tyres or do services at different branches of City Oil and enter the draw to win the car. 

The successful event held at Kamwokya branch, was graced by Linglong Tire Executive Director Wang from China and the chairman Mandela Group, Omar Mandela.

The teacher, Mechanical engineer and a dealer in transport business, Kyeyune Godfrey praised Mandela Group for its transparency and marvelous hospitality they give their customers. 

“I am very grateful to win this car, it’s my first time to win via such campaigns, the others I went through were not straight and they were not transparent but I thank Mandela Group for transparency they have exhibited in this campaign.” Kyeyune said before adding. “I started dealing with Mandela Group ten years back after getting advise from my friend who also deals in transport industry, but I thank Mandela for their quality service and on top of that is the hospitality, they’re very good at welcoming the customers.”  

Kyeyune didn’t receive the car immediately but the company has revealed that after all the logistics, the winner will get the car in a few days.

John Bosco Mugisha and a one Florence based in Mbale were the maiden winners. 

This car when fully charged, it covers a distance of more than 300KM. When charged at home, it takes 8 hours to full battery.

However, City Oil and the government of Uganda have started the establishment of charging centers across the country.

The powerful facilities like one established at City Oil Kamwokya take only 30 minutes to full charge.
