The day five of the 2025 edition of the USSSA ball games one climaxed on Saturday with a number shocks.
Tournament hosts, Bukedea Comprehensive School given no chance to peep into round of sixteen after losing 1-0 to Boni Consilii Girls Vocational School.
The shocker of the day came at the round of sixteen where the last season finalist, Rines SS, the side that had an enticing football lost to Standard High School -Zzana 4-2 via spot kicks following a goalless stalemate in the match honored at Atutur grounds. To reach round of sixteen, STAHIZA used the same technique (spot kicks) and eliminated Restore Leadership High School after a goalless draw.
Rines had an easy path at the round of 32 beating Masaka SS 2-0, courtesy of Mupyanga Halima brace, however, they were shocked at the round of sixteen and the dream to feature in the upcoming FEASSSA perished before the morning awake.
Boni Consilii Girls Vocational School eliminated the hosts, Bukedea Comprehensive School after a 1-0 scoreline, the fixture was honored at Atutur grounds.
Kawempe Muslim SS qualified to quarter final after beating resilient Bunya SS, thanks to Agnes Nabukenya lone strike that came in the second stanza of the match.
The goal took Agnes Nabukenya’s tally to 12 goals in four matches.
Meanwhile, Kawempe to reach round of sixteen, they banged Bishop Comboni College School 6-0, Agnes Nabukenya had a brace, Kevin Nanyunja, Meble Adong, Shadia Nabirye and Cynthia Kirenga all appearing on the score sheet.
Four round of sixteen matches were played, the rest were postponed to tomorrow (Sunday) following the poor state of the pitches due to heavy downpour.
