ASC Goettingen, World Coaches Program Hold a Successful Youth Camp, Over 200 Kids Benefit | Voice of Bugerere

In their pursuit to change lives of the youths across Uganda through sports, ASC Goettingen, a Germany based Organisation in conjunction with World Coaches Program, hosted a successful three days youth Camp in Matugga. 

This programme which ran from 16-18th May 2025 at Enlight Vocational Institute has attracted 211 youths of the age between 13 and 15 years of age who not only got soccer skills but also life skills in bakery, catering, computer skills, Automotive and tailoring. 

The inaugural programme that brought at least seven soccer academies in one place was under the theme; “Bringing all youths and volunteer coaches together, empower them with technical skills through workshops, integrating football and life skills to change lives in their communities.”

Apart from the life skills, the programme also addressed school drop outs as one of the main social issues and a few where able to get opportunities to go back to school as they collected donations to get them back to school.

“We had a successful programme, the first of its kind in Uganda, we had 211 kids from seven academies from different parts of the country.” Said Jessy Lukoki, Programme’s coordinator. 

“This programme is sponsored by ASC Goettingen and World Coaches Programme, these organisations believe through cultural exchange, sports and skilling programme have power to change the world positively.” He added.

The academies that took part in the programme includes; Msingi, Soccer For Life Foundation,Endasi,Harambe Soccer Academy from Kabale,Njeru Soccer Academy,Iganga Sports Academy and Bazanye Sports Academy.

The kids were awarded with certificates upon finishing the technical skills lessons. 

According to country coordinator, this programme will hosted every year.

Meanwhile, in football, Msingi from Mukono lifted the U13 category trophy and Soccer for Life Foundation settled for a silver medal. 

In under 15 category,  Bazanya Sports Academy crowned the champion with Njeru Essubi Soccer Academy taking the silver medal.
