Singer Azawi’s message about the ongoing #March2Parliament protests has been applauded by NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine who said she simplified the message he has always relayed to the common person.

“Am very happy about artists like King Saha, Azawi, and many others who have made it very easy for the common person to understand, and with time, I see the two sides bonding and acting together,” Bobi Wine said during an X space over the weekend.

During an earlier X (Twitter) space, Azawi called out fellow artists to rise and use their voices and platforms to speak against corruption.

She criticized the bigger artists who have remained tight-lipped in the ongoing #March2Parliament public protests, reminding them that the same people who support them at their concerts need them now to add to their voice in the protests.

The Swangz Avenue songstress went on to express how corruption can affect even the least caring person, using her own story about how she lost her father and sister due to poor healthcare as an example.

This is really sad because these are artists who have been here for some time, they have established themselves, and they’re doing okay but they are being given billions to facilitate their lifestyles. Am angry to the point that I can even punch a wall and this anger has been accumulating for many years.

The fact that Ugandans have supported me since the start of my career, is the point at which I come through for them as well. Other artists who have remained silent ate money and now they cannot say anything, they are compromised but when the time comes to hold their concerts, they want people to turn up for them.
