Eddy Kenzo has opened up about the reasons behind the slowdown of his once-thriving international career. He explained why he decided to put his international pursuits on hold.
Kenzo said that his primary focus has been on addressing and improving the music industry in Uganda.
“I wanted to clear the mess at home first,” he stated. According to him, the local industry needs reorganization to ensure that all artists can thrive and earn a fair share from their work through the copyright law.
The Semyekozo singer believes that a well-structured local industry is crucial for the success of all musicians, including himself.
He pointed out that he possesses the knowledge and experience to elevate his international career whenever he chooses.
I intentionally paused my international business because there was a lot I had to first put right back home. I know when and how to rock the international market because I’ve done it for many years. But, things have to be good at home for you to enjoy the international market.
