The real stars of the month of January were recognised on Tuesday at Lazio Restaurant Kololo before the main sponsors of the prestigious awards, Jude Color Solutions and Fortebet Uganda.
For the month of January, three sports disciplines were recognised that includes; Boxing, Rally and Kho kho, the new sport in Uganda.
The new sport has impressed Ugandans when the national team went in their maiden World cup in India and finished third.
Inspire of having a collective effort as a team in India, Grace Ojiru, Erina Nattabi and Rose Nankumba were very outstanding.
However according to statistics, Grace Ojiru best the rest, she finished as the best player in two games against New Zealand and England. She also picked the best chaser in a game against Australia and best defender against Netherlands.
Uganda won four games throughout the tournament before falling to Nepal in the semifinal.
“I am very happy that I represented my country in the world cup and we performed well, thank you Real Stars for recognising me and my sport.” Grace said after receiving her accolade with a brown envelope.

The team won the first round of the NRC in Mbarara dubbed Lumala @60 Mama @90 birthday rally clocking a time of one hour, 12 minutes and 59.4 seconds.
In boxing category, Alfred Ojok took the January accolade after over shining Majid Kabonge and Latibu Muwonge.
The Ugandan boxer Alfred Ojok made a thunderous international debut at the inaugural Solidarity and Fraternity Boxing Night Gala, delivering a spectacular first-round knockout against Libya’s Hamza Gazouini.
The event, hosted on January 24, 2025, at the Sidi Bou Said Gymnasium in Tunisia, brought together elite boxers from around the globe under the auspices of the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC) and the International Boxing Association (IBA).
Representing Brawn Boxing Club, Ojok entered the 75kg middleweight bout as a promising contender, and his performance exceeded expectations.
