After seven years of trying to return to Namboole Stadium, a ground where they last appeared in 2016, Kyaggwe Sazza football made a mega bounce back and they’re on final of the 2024 Masaza Cup final.
With the glory and history made to reach the team at their maiden cup final, Fortebet Uganda in conjunction with Real Stars Sports Agency and Jude Color Solutions have recognized the steering committee at Kyaggwe with a life achievement award.
The top four on the committee; Kyaggwe Sazza Chief (Ssekiboobo) Owek. Vincent Matovu, Team Chairperson Hon. Stephen Serubula Kinaalwa, secretary Greg Kikomeko and head coach, David Katono Mutono have received their Accolades on Tuesday, 29, October, 2024 at Lazo Restaurant Kololo.
The Committee’s chairperson, Hon. Serubula thanked Real Stars Sports Agency for recognizing their work and promised that Kyaggwe will be announced the champions come Saturday 2, November, 2024.
“It came as a surprise to us when we received the calls that we’re to be recognized as the best Sazza football committee, so I have happy for these gifts, it’s very to receive them, so I take this as an historical gift in my life.” Said Hon. Serubula.
“As Sazza chairperson, I want to remind you that the Almighty has been with us since day one and our hard work, so I want to tell you that on Saturday is the Masaza Cup final and I am very optimistic that we’re going to be the champions. Yes I know it better that in football, there are three aspects, win, loss and a draw but this time round, there is no draw, I am very confident that the win. ” Hon. Serubula Kinaalwa added.
“I want to thank Fortebet and Jude Color Solutions who have recognized me, it motivates me and gives me courage that people out there appreciate my job. I want to remind Buganda that Kyaggwe is at Namboole, we have passed through the hard road, we have worked for this glory and I believe in my team that we have the victory on Saturday.” David Katono Mutono said.
Isaac Mukasa, MP to be and the CEO of Real Stars Sports Agency revealed as to why they have awarded Kyaggwe Sazza.
“It’s a special month, this is the first time to give out more than two life achievement awards, this time round we went with Sazza Kyaggwe for the achievement, they reached their first final in the history of Masaza, they were in the toughest group, I can say the group of death, Muganzirwazza, they managed to maneuver as number three, but again they made it to the final and they deserve this. ” Said CEO Isaac Mukasa
In other awards, Augustus Owinyi took the badminton accolade, Mike Mukula Jr. and Allan Okello settled for rally and football accolades respectively.
