In their pursuit to promote and to grow the women football in Uganda, Finance Trust Bank has added the ingredients in Super League competition with monthly awards coming with financial packages.
The official sponsors of the two top flight women football leagues in Uganda, Finance Trust Bank has released the names of the top three players and the top three Coaches of women Super League as nominees of the month of October.
On the nominees list, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, the side topping the league with 100% record has two players on the nominees list and one coach.
The league current top scorer, Agnes Nabukenya (4 goals), Josephine Nambuya who haven’t conceded any goal this season and coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi are the nominees from Kawempe’s camp.
Ayub Kiyingi is in contest with Lady Doves FC tactician, Nyanzi Medhi and Bulega Faridah who is steering the newbies, Amus College WFC.
Ayub’s side Kawempe Muslim Ladies are on top of the league table with a perfect 12 points from 4 games while Nyanzi Medhi’s Lady Doves are second with eight points and Amus College are 3rd with seven points also from 4 games.
Meanwhile, Kawempe Muslim duo, midfielder, Nabukenya Agnes and goalkeeper Nambuya Josephine are the nominees for the Finance Trust Bank Women Super League Player of the Month together with Uganda Martyrs Lubaga versatile player, Auki Angel Kigongo.
This is the very first time ever that a Coach and Player of the Month are being awarded in Women’s Football in Uganda and each winner walks away with 500,000/- courtesy of Finance Trust Bank.
The Award Ceremony is being held later this week once all the nominees are in the country.
