The FUFA Women Elite league  champions, St Noa Girls FC continues to bully the Women football giants in the country with their amazing performances at top levels. 

With the help of the punisher, Sylvia Kabene, St Noa Girls FC denied Kampala Queens an opportunity to win a double this season. The goal poucher had a hat trick as her side come from a goal down to beat the Finance Trust Women Super League champions Kampala Queens 3-2 on quarter final of FUFA Women’s Cup played on Wednesday at Phillip Omondi Stadium Lugogo. 

The Finance Trust Women Elite league winner and the MVP, Sylvia Kabene handed the visitors a lead in the 22nd minute of the first stanza but two minutes later, Kampala Queens levelled the matters with Shamirah Nalugya well converted penalty, punishing Zainab Birungi handball in the forbidden area, thanks to Peace Muduwa cross from the right flank.

A minute to halftime break, Zainah Nandede separated the tie with a cool finish stretching Lillian Nakirya with a far posting pressing and sent Kampala Queens to the dressing room with a smile, not forgetting Shamirah Nalugya brilliant pass that beat two St Noa’s defenders to find Nandede. 

Despite being a goal behind, the visitors remained calm waiting for any moment while containing the hosts, hoping, having the game in control, Kampala Queens’ tactician Asefa Firew Hailegebreal pushed Shakirah Nankwaga back to central defence, introducing Teddy Najjuma and Zaitun Namaganda in the middle of the park, Esther Namusoke in the left back putting off Miriam Nakayiwa, Asia Nakibuuka and Catherine Nagadya in the 55th minute. 

The three changes made gave St Noa midfield chance to operate and three minutes later (58th minute), brilliant Brendah Nassaka who was out of the game for the entire first half, got a golden opportunity after dodging off Teddy Najjuma, released Sylvia Kabene to level the matters with a far post strike. 

In the 61st minute, Kabene completed her hat trick with an overhead strike and regained St Noa’s lead. 

The following 29 minutes to the final whistle, the Elite league champions defended their league with Lilian Nakirya making brilliant saves not forgetting Zainabu Birungi who had a goal like clearance inside the last 10 minutes of the encounter. 

And the final whistle saw St Noa propelling to semifinals and they are waiting to play between She Corporate and Kawempe Muslim Ladies who are still have a case in the FUFA judicial committee. In the other semifinal, Uganda Martyrs and Amus College will face off.

For starters, this has been the second loss for Kampala Queens this season and also the first one came against a high school side, Kawempe Muslim SS Ladies FC at the same venue.
