With the year ending, a number of individuals and companies come up with Christmas and end of year football tournaments.
In the same line, the foundation of Ham Sports Agency and Ham Islamic Primary School, Ntambi Ham has come up with Ham End of Year Football Tournament and it was launched on Wednesday in Kampala.
The tournament that is aimed at being hosted every year, it is slated to kick off on Sunday 20th October, 2024 at Bujuuko Catholic playground in Bujuuko Sentema road.
The tournament vision bearer, Ntambi Ham has revealed why he came up with the idea that is coming to reality on Sunday.
“Since I am an agent, I am trying to see that I discover more talents and even to add value to players we have. This tournament is going to be held every year.” Ntambi Ham.
“The win will take a bull, a trophy, medals and a set of jersey, the first runners up will also win a bull, we shall also have prizes for MVP and top scorer.” He confirmed.
The secretary of the tournament, Lubega Robert revealed the number of the teams that have registered so far and why the teams shall be free to use at most five super league players.
“This is the first edition but we want to have a unique tournament, like the chairman has said, we thought of Super League players to spice up the tournament and even other players to learn from them because of their experience but each team shall not exceed five super league players out of the licensed 25 they will be having” Lubega Robert, Secretary of the tournament.
“So far we have 16 teams that have registered to feature in the tournament, our target is not to exceed 32 teams.” He revealed.
The opening fixture that is expected to be attended by FUFA CEO Edgar Watson, shall be between Sure Excel and Bujuuko FC.
