Local singer Salongo Siraje maintains that he was not targeting the money from gate collections when he held his concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval last Friday.

Salongo Siraje registered a low reveler turn-up at his “Nalu Nalu” concert that was held at Lugogo Cricket Oval on Friday 14 June 2024.

Despite the heavy investment in the event through advertising on different media outlets and city drives, revelers did not fill up half the venue, attracting criticism, especially on social media.

Media personalities questioned what his aim was taking the concert to one of the biggest concert venues in Uganda and if he really gained profits from it.

While speaking after the concert, Salongo Siraje noted that his aim was not to gain financially from the show and he had no set target.

He maintained that the show was organized for his diehard fans to have fun and that those who turned up enjoyed themselves.

Salongo Siraje thanked his friends and fans for sparing time to show him love and support on his big day and promised to perform at all the extra concert shows scheduled in different parts of the country.

We are out here having all the fun we wanted. Lugogo was shut down and thank you my fans for showing me too much love and support. We shall not stop. The critics can keep on talking because we cannot stop them from talking.

We are just having fun. We did not do this for the money, we only called our fans to come through and we performed for them. We did not set any financial targets, it wasn’t about the money.
