The national mathematics contest is organized by the Uganda Mathematics Society, and paper 1 will be held on Saturday, 5th April 2025, at Global Junior School Mukono.
“Following our top performance in football last year where we emerged champions of Uganda in football U12, we have now put focus on Mathematics Contest starting with paper 1 in Mukono before advancing to national June 27th”. Said Isa Ntale, the director Kanjuki Junior School in an interview with this website
“We want also o show our parents and the community that playing football doesn’t mean we can not compete in academics related contest because last year our best performer was a footballer who managed to score five (5) aggregates”. Added Isa Ntale, the director Kanjuki Junior School.
Second paper for primary, secondary, featuring O-Level and A-level will be held on 27th June this year, 2025.
The Uganda Mathematical Society officially launched its annual mathematics competition in January this year with an objective to identify and nurture talent among young mathematicians across the country.
The event will feature contestants from primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, with winners receiving scholarships and mentorship opportunities.
Also, the competition aims to foster a culture of mathematical excellence and innovation.
