Following the end of the Sanyu TV series on Pearl Magic Prime, Cissy Nalumansi now plans to shift her focus to telling positive African stories that debunk notions about Africa.

Mpologoma Media and Jungle Rains Production CEO Cissy Nalumansi is a Scriptwriter, Producer, and Director. She was one of the Writers on the just concluded ‘Sanyu’ TV series that has aired on MultiChoice for over four years.

She highlights “initiative and drive” as her major driving forces in the film world and acknowledges the vast potential among African creatives to tell African stories, which she aims to achieve with each project she works on.

My passion for storytelling is to tell stories that debunk notions about Africa. Through my very few travels, I realized that we still struggle a lot with how we are perceived as a continent and I want to do my part in trying to debunk those notions by telling positive African stories told from an African perspective.

“I am working on a couple but mostly I’m focusing on stories that debunk notions about Africa. Am doing a few collaborations with people abroad so that we can bring these stories to life. Many of them are still in the making but eventually, we shall see the fruits,” she added.
