Maro shared his experiences of living abroad in Germany and how he had to do odd jobs for survival.
The singer moved to Germany for three years in search of greener pastures. During this time, he faced the challenges of survival in a foreign country and had to take on various odd jobs to make ends meet.
While speaking about his journey, Maro revealed that his knowledge of English proved to be a significant advantage, allowing him to secure gigs and earn a living.
He recalls doing jobs such as security work, “pusher” jobs, and even helping to clear stages at events held in Cologne, Germany.
Through these roles, he got the chance to witness the high level of organization at international events and was fortunate to see global stars like Beyoncé backstage.
Reflecting on the differences between Uganda and Germany’s event setups, Maro expressed that Ugandan entertainment still has a long way to go to reach the international standards he witnessed.
However, he remains optimistic that Uganda’s music industry will continue to grow and improve in terms of event management and organization.
