Nalukoola Kawempe North Sports Tournament 2024-2025

The inaugural Nalukoola Kawempe North Sports tournament officially kicked off on Sunday, 22, December 2024 with two epic encounters at Kawempe Muslim SS Playground in Kawempe Division – Kampala.
The tournament that will have three sports disciplines; Football, netball and ludo has commenced with football and the Kawempe North Constituency aspiring Member of Parliament, Luyimbazi Elias Nalukoola was the guest of honour who officially opened the tournament that will run until 2025.
The early kick off witnessed Kalule zone edge Kakungulu zone 1-0.
Paddy Kemba scored the all-important goal in a duel that witnessed either sides missing several goal scoring opportunities.
Moments after the opening match, the heavens set loose with the limbering session for Kilokole and Keti Falawo players conducted under the rain.
This contest eventually kicked off under drizzles with Kilokole winning 5-4 in the 9 goals thrilling encounter.
David Wasswa grabbed the headlines for the right reasons with a well struck hat-trick for Kilokole zone.
Mikidadi Sseruwanga netted the other two goals for Kilokole past goalkeeper Mahadi Kato.
Keti Falawo staged a brilliant fight, scoring through Juma Mwanje’s brace, a beautiful Hakim Kiganda free-kick and defender Armujadi Bwogi who connected past his own goalkeeper Fahadi Mambo.
The fans cheered wildly every goal before referee Ssali called for full time.
The tournament main funder Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola, flanked by the local organizing committee team officiated at the official opening ceremony.
“I am pro-sports and would wish to utilize this platform to develop talents of the youth through this tournament. Sports is entertainment and also fosters unity. We shall also have netball and ludo besides football” the lawyer remarked.
Football grounds as Kawempe Muslim SS playground, Kawempe Muslim SS, Kawempe Kutaano, Kanyanya, Komamboga, Kanyanya and Kilokole will be used in this tournament.
All the zone and parishes within Kawempe North will be in action in this gruelling championship that is open to all players across all divisions of Uganda’s football pyramid.
The two finalists per parish will get a set of jerseys heading to the next round of matches where the grand winner shall take home a trophy, gold medals, a bull and balls.
The tournament is expected to climax by March 2025.
