The match week eight of the National Netball Women Super League successfully held on Saturday at Nakivubo Stadium.

The table leaders, UCU Netball club lost its six match-unbeaten run to record champions, NIC Netball club in an enticing encounter that closed the epic day. 

The East Africa reigning champions earned a 37-33 hard-fought victory against the table leaders to move to ten points in six matches. 

NIC has the lead of the match from the first to the last quarter despite the fact that their head coach, Rashid Mubiru suspended from the technical bench before the end of the first half following his usual unsporting behaviour against the umpires. 

The National Insurance Company owned club took the one goal advantage at the first quarter ending, 09-08. In this quarter, UCU at a certain moment had the three goals lead but slight errors made by the mid court players costed them and NIC to punished them using the experience. 

In the second quarter, NIC widened the gap to four goals, ending 20-16, the third quarter saw, Nelson Bogere girls narrowing the gap to three goals [29-26].

In the last quarter it went off their hands, losing two centres and pulled pressure off NIC who didn’t have the services of Sandra Nambirige, Victoria Nantumbwe and Privas Kayenyi. The match ended 37-33 in favour of NIC. 

In the other mouthwatering encounter of the day was between the two title contenders, the league defending champions, Prisons Netball Club and KCCA Netball club. 

The latter, dropped the four goals lead for both sides to share the spoils with a 47-47 final score. 

Prior to these two epic actions, NIC beat struggling Life Sport Netball Club 57-22 as Makindye Weyonje hummer UGX-Luweero Netball 57-31.
