Comedian Patrick Salvado has spoken out about the commercialisation of churches in Uganda and expressed concerns about how church leaders prioritise money, creating an impression that financial contributions equate to divine favours.
Salvado pointed out the rapid increase in the number of churches across Uganda, with new ones emerging almost weekly.
He noted that these church leaders often target vulnerable individuals, exploiting their desperation to attract followers. A common tactic, according to Salvado, is the performance of “fake miracles.”
Salvado urged Ugandans to remain vigilant and not to be swayed by church leaders’ claims of performing miracles.
