Vincent Tumusiime’s Kampala University proved that they were twice champions when they displayed a brave character and grabbed three points off Gulu University on road.

The 2013 and 2016 champions played almost 45 minutes with a man less against Gulu University on Wednesday at Gulu University Playground in Gulu City but managed to go back home with a 1-0 victory.

Kampala University who narrowly survived to concede in the early minutes of the first half, they played almost the entire second half with a man down, following a red card given to Kisa Yosia in the 46th minute of the game. He was booked in the first half for a foul play, then he got a second booking a minute into second half after a handball.

However, Vincent Tumusiime boys remained cool and maintained their possessive style of play with Ndase Tony dictating the game.

Ndase Tony, the man who had the control of the midfield for the entire match.

Despite the fact thar they were a man down, Kampala University enjoyed the ball possession and it was hardly visible that they were a man down.

Gulu University tried to use their long ball style of play but their were denied any goal scoring opportunity, Nsubuga Benjamin and Ssaka Vincent won almost all the duels both on ground and in the air.

In the 71st minute, Ndase Tony released Wanume Gilbert with a fine ball but he was fouled at the edge of the box by Lacwech Joel and the referee awarded the visitors with a free kick.

Left back, Ssembatya Sharif stood in it and curved the ball above the wall and found the top corner of the net to send Kampala University into celebration in the 72nd minute.
