The 11th edition of the Pepsi University Football League climaxed today (Sunday) at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku. 

Uganda Martyrs University crowned the champion after humbling St Lawrence University in a 3-0 thrilling encounter. 

Calvin Peter Emayu, Sseruwunge Crispus and Obedi Giu Ronald were on target for the Saints to lift their third trophy in University league history.

In an almost a one sided final saw Calvin Peter Emayu, fresh from injury handing Uganda Martyrs University a lead with a cool finish in the 36th minute of first stanza. 

A swift counter attacker from the right flank saw Aguma Wesley releasing Emayu with a defense splitting pass for the latter to hand the visitors a lead with a cool tap in. 

After scoring the opener, the Village boys to the full charge of the game with Nicolas Jjunga, Ivan Agamile and Sseruwunge Crispus dictating the play. 

Three minutes to the halftime whistle, Sseruwunge Crispus doubled the lead for the Villagers with a thunderbolt strike just immediately before the penalty area. 

The match went in the recess while UMU are two goals Infront.

In the 56th minute, the center forward, Obedi Giu Ronald sealed the victory for UMU with a professional goal Poacher’s chip, beats St Lawrence’s defense who thought that he was offside but the flag left down for the striker to the the advantage and sent the traveling fans from Nkozi into wild celebrations. 

The remaining minutes, UMU played maintenance, hiding the ball from St Lawrence. 

This has been the second time Uganda Martyrs beating St Lawrence on the first and the first came in 2022. 

St Lawrence University went in the University Football League records as the first side to lose three finals in space of four seasons; 2019,2022 and now 2025. 

Uganda Martyrs University went in the records as the side that has won the University league most times, three; 2017,2022 and 2025, leaving Kampala University and MUBS on two trophies each.
