International Business, Science And Technology University (ISBAT) in a surprise turn of events, have registered a maiden Pepsi University Football League victory on the closure of group A.
The Lugogo bypass based University thumped Busitema University 4-1 in the encounter honoured on Wednesday at Busitema University grounds.
Ssentongo Joshua, Kalema Ashraf, Jogolo Yahaya and Katende Bahir scored for ISBAT and the consolation for the hosts came from Dinya Joseph.
Dinya Joseph first handed the hosts a lead as early as two minutes into the first half.
However, with six minutes to the break, captain Ssentongo Joshua leveled the matters of the visitors and the first stanza ended in square.
In the 62nd minute, Kalema separated the tie, giving the visitors a lead before Jogolo Yahaya head the visitor’s third goal in the 78th minute, in the 4th minute of the added time, Katende Bahiira netted the fourth.
In the other group fixture, defending champions, Nkumba University and IUIU shared points in a barren draw.
ISBAT joined the prestigious Elites’ league last season, they won none of their fixtures but this season, they managed to finish the season with four points in group A.
This group was topped by IUIU with 12 points, Nkumba University (Defending champions) with 11, Busitema 6 and ISBAT four points.
