Singer Phina Masanyalaze has set sights on returning to labor school to fight for workers’ rights so that they get treated and paid better.

During an interview, Phina expressed that she is disturbed whenever she learns about how workers are exploited and paid peanuts for the heavy jobs they do for different companies.

She revealed that when she looked into the Employment Act, she learned that the minimum wage bill was passed but it is not being put into practice as it should be done.

On that note, she elaborated that the minimum wage for every Ugandan is Ugx130,000 adding that she always feels hurt whenever someone is paid a salary that is way below the minimum wage.

I went to the labor college and felt the urge to fight for workers. I always feel hurt whenever I see workers in factories suffering at the end they earn peanuts.
