Producer Daddy Andre has voiced his concerns about Eddy Kenzo’s role as a senior presidential advisor on creatives saying the role was fit for someone like him (Andre) who’s “more knowledgeable.”
Appointed by President Museveni in August, Kenzo’s role has sparked varying opinions from fellow artists, with Andre suggesting Kenzo might be better suited to advise recording artists rather than the broader creative sector.
Having previously been part of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) before his departure, Andre shared his views on the appointment.
He believes that advising the creative sector requires individuals with a particular skill set and intellectual background, which he suggests may not align with Kenzo’s expertise.
I think they should have given him [the advisory role] for recording artistes because creatives need some people like us who are intellectually knowledgeable and geniuses. Respect the president, when he gives you the time, go with wisdom, intelligence, or when you are genius.
