The USSSA Elite Games got a new champion of girls football in St Noa Girls Secondary School Zzana.
The free scoring side beat Kawempe Muslim SS 3-0 on the final held on Saturday midmorning at St Joseph’s of Nazareth Mpigi.
Nancy Mandela, Brenda Nassaka a d Imelda Kasemire netted for Jimmy Kintu coaches side to be the new Elite champions.
Defender Nancy Mandela needed only ten minutes to give her side an early lead with a long range free kick, at least 30 yards from the goal, the goal was of no difference from that Kawempe Muslim conceded in FUFA Elite league last year and it was against the same taker.
Brenda Nassaka extended the lead for St Noa with a simple press following the failure of Kawempe’s defense to clear the in swang corner kick.
The one sided encounter went in the break with St Noa 2-0 up.
With a documentary move from the middle of the park, Imelda Kasemire sealed the well deserved victory for Noa to become the champions of 6th edition of Elite Games.
Though she didn’t appear on the score sheet today, Sylvia Kabene, St Noa’s forward finished as the tournament’s top scorer with 12 goals.
In the classification fixture, Uganda Martyrs High School beat Boni Concilli 2-1 to settle for a bronze medal .
