The Sports powerhouse University, Kampala University qualified two Volleyball clubs to Uganda Volleyball Federation top-flight league.
Besides giving quality education to the children of the soil, Kampala University has continued to write her name on the walls of sports fame in the country with investing immensely in different disciplines at national and university level.
On Sunday, the Ggaba based University has registered a double success in Volleyball.
The Kampala University Female Volleyball club crowned the champion of the Serie B women League after beating Seroma Christian High School in the play off final hosted on Sunday at Nsambya Sports Arena in Kampala.
The side will feature in the top-flight league come next season.
In the same line, the male side also lifted the Serie B men championship after winning their second consecutive game against Ark Volleyball Club.
Kampala University beat Ark 3-2 in the first game held at Old Kampala Sports Arena seven days back, [ 23:25 , 25:19, 25:22, 25:27, 15:06 ], the determined side returned with the same zeal in the second game and won it with the uniform score line at Nsambya Sports Arena.
In an epic encounter held on Sunday, Ark Volleyball club first took the lead, winning the first set, 25-20, but their efforts dropped in the second set giving Kampala University a whooping 11-25 win, however Ark reclaimed the lead in the third set, winning it 25-23.
Kampala University raised to the height at the level where it mattered the most winning the fourth set 23-25 and the last set 13-15 and went into serious celebrations at fulltime.
The years looks brilliant for Kampala University so far, besides lifting two trophies and qualifying to National Volleyball leagues, the side is also the champions of East Africa in Male Netball.
