Kawempe Muslim SS lifted the 2025 Edition of Buganda Schools Competition Secondary School boys and girls football category trophies.
In boys football, Kawempe Muslim beat Buddo SS on final on Sunday evening at Kawanda to lift the title. The Ayub Khalifa coached side won the end to end encounter via spot kicks (5-3) following a one all draw in normal time.
The two sides played for a a barren stalemate in the first stanza but 15 minutes into second half, skipper Ssekitooleko Ryan handed Kawempe a lead with a striker’s tap in, thanks to eventual tournament’s MVP Alvin Kitiibwa well calculated cross from the right flank.
As Kawempe were preparing to celebrate, in the last minute of the added four of the second stanza, Buddo SS won a penalty which was converted by Katamba Umar to level the matters.
Immediately after the restart, centre referee blew the last whistle that sent us to spot kicks.
Katamba Umar who resurrected Buddo’s hopes in the normal time when he converted from the spot, he has officially buried it when he was totally needed. He put his penalty in the hands of the Kawempe Muslim goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, Kawempe’s girls team also defended the trophy after beating Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga 1-0, thanks to Dorcus Kisakye only strike that came in the second half of the match.
St Noa Primary school via spot kicks beat Kampala Grammar Primary School to lift the trophy.
In Netball, Buddo SS beat the hosts Kawanda SS 25-20 on final to win the trophy.
