The Confederation of African Football (“CAF”) along with the Local Organising Committees of the three host nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, has released the match Schedule for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
According to CAF, the tournament is slated to kick-off on Saturday, 02 August 2025 in Dar es Salaam with co-hosts Tanzania taking on Burkina Faso at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium at 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT).
The following day Sunday 3rd August 2025 the show will shift to Kenya as they play their opening fixture at 15:00 local time (12:00 GMT) against Democratic Republic of Congo at the Moi International Sport Centre and later Morocco will battles Angola at Nyayo Stadium then at 20h00 (17h00 GMT), action will return to Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, where Madagascar will play Mauritania.
In Kampala Uganda the opening games will be played on Monday, 04 August 2025 when co-hosts Uganda face Algeria at 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT), while before that Niger will play Guinea at 17:00 local time (14:00 GMT) at the same venue.
The tournament is expected to climax with the third place play off that is scheduled to be played on the 29th August 2025 in nambile at 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT), followed by the grand final the next day Saturday 30th August at Moi International Sports Center, Nairobi also kicking off at 18:00 local time (15:00GMT).
Uganda is currently in mass preparations for the tournament under the stewardship of Coach Morley Byekwaso and Fred Muhumuza.
With the spotlight on East Africa, the competition is expected to be a unique celebration of local football talent, talent and regional pride.
