Nakivubo Stadium hosted the maiden Masaza Cup fixture after 12 years of draught.

The Masengere group contest between Kyaddondo and Bulemeezi FC became the first match to be hosted at the venue in the prestigious Buganda Kingdom organized championship since the final of the 2013 edition where Mawokota crowned the champion.

Sudaisi Ssentamu’s late strike was vital for Kyadondo in overcoming a three time competition winners Bulemeezi FC.

The Venue had last staged a Masaza Cup game in 2013 when Mawokota edged Ssingo 1-0, also a late free kick taken by Farouk Miya.

Uganda Premier league sides Express FC and URA FC hosted their matches at this venue last season but couldn’t attract a quarter of the fans that attended the Kyaddondo vs Bulemeezi game.

In other results, Buluuli tamed Ssese at own home in Ssese with a 2-0 victoria before Kabula held Ssingo in a goalless draw.

Action continues tomorrow with a number of game as outlined below;

Busujju vs Busiro – Kakindu
Mawovola vs Butambala – Mawovola Sazza grounds
Mawokota vs Buwekula – Buwama Sazza grounds
Kyagwe vs Kooki – Bishops SS mukono
Bugerere vs Buvuma – Ntenjeru Ssaza grounds.
