Besides the opening fixture held on Saturday at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku, the Bika football tournament seriously commenced on Wednesday at different playing venues in Kampala.
At Lubiri Senior Secondary School playground, Ngaali clan registered one of the rare victories in the tournament beating 2009 winners, Ffumbe clan by two goals to none [2-0].
Kazibwe Salem and Joseph Kyeyune scored the two goals that handed Ngaali a perfect win in this year’s tournament.
After winning, the clan’s head coach, Kazibwe Tony with excitement revealed that this season, they have come to compete not to participate like they have been doing in the recent past.
“As a team, this year, we have prepared well compared to our previous seasons.” Tony stated before adding. ” So our mission so far is to reach in the knockout stages due to the fact that we have learnt from the previous lessons as far as Bika football tournament is concerned.”
Despite getting a penalty to have a consolation and go in second leg with a great hope of qualifying to the next stage , Mpande Sula failed to convert it and bow out at the preliminary stage.
