Buchaman has come forward to set the record straight regarding recent claims made by Eddy Kenzo, who accused Bobi Wine of copying his songs while still in the Firebase Crew.
According to Buchaman, these claims hold no truth, as Bobi Wine owns all the music they created during their time together at Firebase.
One of the songs at the center of the controversy is “Promise.” Buchaman explained that Firebase recorded two versions of this song—a slow version and a reggae version.
The initial reggae version, however, was not well-received by Ugandans, prompting Bobi Wine to return to the studio, add new lyrics, and adjust the sound.
Buchaman further revealed that the inspiration for “Promise” came from Bobi Wine’s wife, Barbie. On the day it was recorded, Barbie wasn’t in the best of moods, and this inspired Bobi Wine to express his feelings through the song.
Moreover, Buchaman mentioned that all the songs produced during their time in Firebase were fully copyrighted by Bobi Wine.
