Dr. Hilderman real name Hillary Kiyaga lost his temper with a TV reporter who questioned him about his relationship with Bobi Wine, the president of his political party.
Dr. Hilderman, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mawokota North, was one of the key figures brought into parliament by the wave of support for Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) in the previous general elections.
There have been persistent rumors suggesting a rift between Dr. Hilderman and Bobi Wine.
The two former close allies, both of whom transitioned from successful music careers to politics, are not seen together at party events anymore.
Additionally, Dr. Hilderman is not frequently spotted at the NUP headquarters in Makerere Kavule. These observations have fueled speculation that the MP may have distanced himself from his party leader.
The tension came to a head yesterday when a reporter boldly asked Dr. Hilderman about his relationship with Bobi Wine during an event at the National Theatre.
During the event, Dr. Hilderman discussed several important matters, including the financial management of the UNMF led by Eddy Kenzo. He clarified that he is not a member of the Kenzo-led Federation, although he has been instrumental in advocating for amendments to the Copyright Law.
Moreover, Dr. Hilderman voiced his support for the government’s decision to extend funds to the SACCO of the Federation, a move that has been met with strong criticism from Bobi Wine.
