The Uganda Medical Association (UMA) chairman of Ethics and Professionalism, Dr. Wilberforce Kabweru has dismissed reports that suggested the criticism against Gravity Omutujju’s new music video “Doozi” in which he features Shakira Shakiraa was staged.

He explained that they came out to address the issue because they were concerned with how Gravity and Shakira Shakiraa misrepresented the doctor’s profession based on how they appeared in the photos that they circulated online.

Dr. Kabweru defended his association by expressing his dismay with how Gravity used the doctor’s apparatus in the music video that they have since requested the Uganda Communications Commission to ban.

He noted that had the singer used the lab coat in its proper and rightful manner, no one would have attacked or approached them on this issue.

We are not staged, and I don’t even know Gravity, but we don’t want him to use our tools or the hospital environment inappropriately. No one would have approached Gravity if he had done something good.

He also warned that if someone wants to release something in reference to their field of professionalism they must seek guidance before misrepresenting and tarnishing their image.

If someone wants to release something from our field, they must seek our guidance.
