Eddy Kenzo, a Ugandan singer, has praised his wife Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro for elevating him from the gutters to a better life.

Despite her family being well-educated, Kenzo claims that Nyamutoro – now the Minister of State for Minerals in the Ministry of Energy and Minerals Development – picked him up from the lowest points of life.

The BET Award winner considers it a significant accomplishment.

Her family is well educated, she is well learned but she came all the way and picked me from the gutters, and elevated me.

Kenzo also noted that Nyamutoro was young when they met and had already worked in public service and the President’s Office, but she was a normal girl and they vibed.

He compared their relationship to that of President Museveni and his wife, Janet Museveni, who met when she had no idea he would become president.

I didn’t know Phiona would become a minister. Phiona is young. We met when she was about 26 years old, we were both young and could vibe no matter what. She had already worked in Public Service and the President’s Office but she was a normal girl and we vibed.

So whatever is happening now is what will happen just like Mama Janet Museveni had no idea that President Museveni would become president when they met. It happened along the way. Her family is well educated but she picked me from the gutters and elevated me.
