Finance Trust Monthly Awards: Amus College Duo, St Noa Girls Tactician Smile for November Success | Voice of Bugerere

Finally the best performers of the month of November in the Finance Trust Women Super and elite leagues have received their awards on Monday, 23, December, 2024 at Finance Trust Bank head quarters, Twed Plaza – Kampala. 

The awarding ceremony was graced by the Finance Trust Bank Executive Director, Annet Kigundu who thanked the best performers as well as giving assurance to Uganda’s that her bank shall continue supporting the game of football in women.

“As a bank, this is a moment that is emphasizing our commitment for this partnership, we are strongly pursuing this cause of uplifting women….On the side of the bank we’re just reaffirming our commitment and making that every one out there should help to lift the other above.” Says Finance Trust Bank ED, Annet Kigundu.

Amus College WFC head coach,Faridah Burega and her forward,Esther Namataka named the best coach and player of the month of November respectively. 

To win the accolade, former Kampala Queens tactician, Bulega beat off the competition from Rines WFC coach, Nyanzi Bright Tadeo and Ocuka Simon Peter of She Maroons FC.

In the month of November, out of the five played matches, Amus College won two matches, draw two and collected eight points out of the possible 15.

“I feel happy that the organisers recognised me, I thank finance Trust Bank to put up such awards because they motivate the players and the coaches and with these awards I see that there is light in women football in Uganda.” Said Faridah Bulega. 

The tactician dedicated the award to the coaching and backroom staff of Amus College.

Esther Namataka, Amus College forward was overwhelmed with Finance Trust’s eye that saw her performance in the month of November.

“I want to thank our director, coaches and teammates who never give up on us. I also want to thank finance trust bank who thought about us, this has been my first time to win such accolade and I hope to come back next time” said Namataka. 

To win the accolade, Namataka scored two goals in the month of November, won the woman of the match once, she beat off the competition from Arach Phiona of Rines and Daisy Nakaziro, Kampala Queens custodian. 

In Elite League, Jimmy Kintu, St Noa head coach won the best coach award, going past the contest from Asubo Ladies FC tactician, Kamya Swaleh, under the stewardship of Kintu, St Noa won all the five matches in the month of November, collecting 15 points.

Shivan Ashaba was the best player in Elite League for the month of November.

The winners in Super League, each wins 500,000/- courtesy of Finance Trust Bank and that of Elite league go for 250k.

This is the second time Finance Trust is holding these awards, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC duo of Ayubu Khalifa Kiyingi and Josephine Nambuya were the first beneficiaries.
