Kalifah AgaNaga offered insight into the meeting between artists and President Yoweri Museveni. The meeting, which was spearheaded by Eddy Kenzo, was aimed at addressing key issues within the Ugandan music industry and exploring ways to enhance it.
Kalifah AgaNaga emphasized that the discussions were strictly focused on the music industry and how to better it.
He praised Eddy Kenzo for taking the initiative to lead over 150 artists to meet the President, contrasting Kenzo’s approach with that of Bebe Cool, who Kalifah accused of frequently selecting only a few artists for such engagements.
During the meeting, Eddy Kenzo took the opportunity to explain to President Museveni the intricacies of the entertainment industry.
He mentioned the need for amendments to the current copyright law, which would better protect the rights of creatives in Uganda.
In response, President Museveni advised that technical experts should be involved to develop a system that ensures effective implementation of copyright laws for all creatives.
