Kenneth Mugabi, Myko Ouma, and Ssewa Ssewa to headline inaugural Pride of the Pearl concert

Celebrated contemporary artists Kenneth Mugabi, Myko Ouma, and Ssewa Ssewa are set to grace the very first edition of the Pride of the Pearl concert at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel this July.

Pride of the Pearl concert is a one-of-a-kind musical extravaganza celebrating Uganda’s rich cultural heritage. The event’s inaugural edition is set for 7th July 2024 at the Sheraton Ball Room.

Speaking at the press conference on Tuesday, the organizers – Soul Events Africa – noted that the concert aims to embrace the theme of Futuristic African Fusion and promises to showcase the diverse tapestry of Uganda’s musical traditions through captivating performances and soul-stirring melodies.

Myko Ouma, a renowned guitarist and composer promises an exquisite and memorable showcase for guests who will attend the event.

Ouma will be joined by Kenneth Mugabi who is well-known for his soulful vocals, acoustic melodies, and songs Nkwegomba, Kibun’omu, Naki, and Under Wraps, among several others.

Ssewa Ssewa is the third performer in the trio and is well-known for his Mastery of the Janzi instrument. His fusion of traditional Ugandan sounds with contemporary flair creates an electrifying musical journey, showcasing the rich heritage of Uganda.

To create an exclusive and luxurious experience for the guests, only 30 tables are on sale at Ugx5M per table. Single tickets are also on sale for Ugx500k each.

Performances are scheduled to start early enough and end just before midnight.
