In a conversation on Sabrina Agasha’s podcast, Faiza Salima, a presenter at KFM, opened up about her worst dating experience, offering a glimpse into the challenges that can arise when financial boundaries aren’t clearly communicated in relationships.

Salima recounted the story of a date that took place in Naguru, one of Kampala’s suburbs.

A man had asked her out, but when it came to choosing a location for their date, he hesitated, insisting that she make the decision instead. Salima, after some thought, suggested Protea Hotel Kampala Skyz.

Despite her suggestion, Salima expressed concern about the potential cost and asked the man if he would prefer to go somewhere less pricey.

She emphasized during the podcast that she doesn’t mind where she eats as long as the food is good, but she prefers a man to choose a place within his budget to avoid unnecessary financial strain.

Unfortunately, her date reassured her that the location was fine, without disclosing his own budget limitations.

The evening took a stressful turn after the pair had enjoyed a meal totaling over Shs200,000.

Following the meal, the man excused himself to use the restroom, but his absence stretched to 30 minutes, leaving Salima anxious and contemplating calling her mother for help.

Salima admitted that she thought he had run away, sharing her fear that she might have been left alone to deal with the expensive bill.

Eventually, the man returned, and instead of a bill, he was handed a receipt. Salima later learned that he had been desperately searching for a mobile money outlet to withdraw cash—a sum he had borrowed to cover the date.
