Singer Azawi, real name Priscilla Zawedde, has expressed concern over the use of force against citizens who raise issues affecting them, urging leaders to listen to their concerns instead.

The mobilization amongst activists and youth groups has been widely supported by people in the music circles including Azawi, Ykee Benda, and Allan Toniks.
The security organs, however, have strongly advised Ugandans not to engage in the protests and to rather find other means of expressing their grievances.
Via a tweet, the Swangz Avenue star questions why a peaceful protest approach to echo the issues affecting a larger percentage of the population is being immediately shut down by the people in power.
You’ve arrogantly refused to work on the issues affecting almost 78% of this population, you’re even willing to hurt any “Nakasatwe” that expresses their dissatisfaction with tear gas and canes. I hope it won’t be too late when you eventually decide to listen to us.
