The bad history is on verge of facing the two sister Universities if Makerere University doesn’t beat Victoria University and Ndejje University lose to Kumi University in the last round of group stage of the 2024/25 edition of the Pepsi University Football League.
In a surprising matter, Kumi University beat the league’s inaugural winners, Makerere University in the encounter honored on Friday at Kumi University Playground.

Omega Kisale scored the lone goal that secured the second consecutive victory for Kumi University in space of three days.
The two sides played to a barren draw in the first stanza that had limited creativity from both ends.
After nineteen minutes of second stanza, Kumi got a surprise goal from Omega Kisale simple header, thanks to Okiror Charles Cross from the right flank.
Due to bumpiness of the field, Makerere University’s custodian Ssebiranda George miscalculated the ball, when it dropped on the ground, it took another direction and he was helpless to rescue the it before it found the back of the net to send the hosts in celebrations.
In the 89th minute, Tugeineyo Powell got a golden opportunity for Makerere but his effort was cleared off the line by Kumi University’s defender.
For starters Makerere University beat Kumi University 5-0 in the reverse fixture of first round in Kampala and today’s result took Makerere back in last minute calculations.
They need to beat Victoria University and pray for Kumi to beat or play for a any draw in the closing fixture at Arena of Vision in Ndejje – Loweero.
If they don’t go through, it will be the first time for the two sister Universities, Makerere University and Makerere University Business School not reaching quarter final.
