As it stands, University of Kisubi still has a long way to find it’s maiden win this season, the Entebbe road side lost their third consecutive fixture against Muni University in the 12th edition of Pepsi University Football League.
In the other hand, the 2-0 victory against Unik on Tuesday was the first win for the hosts and kept their qualification hopes alive.
Eputiot Francis and Mungufeni Dan used the last ten minutes of the match to win Muni the three points.
Eputiot handed the hosts a lead in the 81st minute, he put the redundant ball into the net after the Unik defenders’ failure to clear it from the danger zone. And in the 90th minute with a powerful header, Mungufeni Dan headed home the second goal from a corner kick.
Besides losing their third game of the season, Unik had a better game display compared to their last match at home that they lost 6-0 against the group E table leaders, Uganda Martyrs University.
Muni used the two great opportunities from the set piece to win the match, current Muni has three goals this season and none came from the open play.
The Atiku Ronnie side has moved to the second place with four points while Unik continued to maintain the bottom place with no point.
The league shall continue on Wednesday when Kampala University will be visiting Gulu University in Gulu.
