Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad, has announced plans to return to active politics after a prolonged battle with a mysterious illness.
For several years, Ssegirinya has been unable to attend parliamentary sessions and serve the constituents who voted him into office.
His absence began after he was accused of being involved in the killings in Masaka and was imprisoned for the first two years of his parliamentary term.
After his release, rather than resuming his duties in parliament, Ssegirinya was struck by a severe illness.
The condition forced him to seek medical treatment abroad, where he remained for over six months. However, in recent months, Ssegirinya has returned to Uganda, and reports indicate that his health is steadily improving.
Fellow MP, Allan Ssewanyana, has been closely monitoring Ssegirinya’s recovery and is optimistic about his future. Ssewanyana revealed that preparations are already underway for Ssegirinya’s return to the political arena, with a focus on the 2026 elections.
Hon. Ssegirinya’s health is improving, and he is set to return to active politics soon. We are all hoping he stays healthy and serves his people like he promised before the elections.
