The 51st edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup nears the final bend with the semifinal draws held on Monday at Serena Hotel.
The main cup sponsors, Stanbic Uganda were represented by Isaac Ajiji – the Sponsorships Manager who conducted the draws in presence of FUFA 3rd Vice President Hon. Nakiwala Kiyingi and head of competitions, Hajjat Aisha Nalule.
The reigning winners, Kitara FC drawn against the three-time winners Vipers SC.
Vipers SC booked their place in the semi-finals after edging nine-time champions Sports Club Villa, while Kitara FC secured their spot thanks to a late strike by Arthur Kiggundu that saw them overcome BUL FC.
In the second semifinal, the ten-time record winners, KCCA FC drawn against the only FUFA big league side at this level, Kataka FC and the first leg will be hosted at Omondi Stadium Lugogo.
KCCA reached the semi-finals after eliminating another Big League outfit, Kaaro Karungi FC, and will be eager to continue their chase for a record-extending title.
The semi-finals will be played on a home-and-away basis, with the team holding the goal advantage progressing to the finals.
The first leg matches are scheduled for May 3rd and 4th, with the return legs set for May 17th and 18th.
Kitara FC head into the last four as the defending champions, having won the 2024 title with a 1-0 victory over NEC FC at Muteesa II Stadium.
And it’s confirmed that Kadiba Stadium will host the final.
